Mbah Kung Hardoyo Ulang Tahun

Today is Grandfather Hardoyo's birthday. Remembering his last birthday in 2006, here's the photos of his 90th birthday in Bojongkoneng, Bandung. It was celebrated with friends from church, families from out of town, and the most important is, I was there! I flew from Singapore in the morning to Jakarta, then Mbak Ine & Oom Agoek picked me up at the airport and we drove to Bandung. We made it just in time to sing him birthday song and watch him opened the presents. He was surprised to see me and called my name out loud in the middle of the celebration. Love him!

Friends from GKJ (Javanese Christian Church) presented a piece for Mbah Kung's birthday. He would sing along while listening. Sometimes he would criticize them, too. He did that just because he knew them so well from leading and conducting the church choir all his life.

Flight 93 Memorial

Union City, CA.
A memorial in Union City for the passengers & crew of the United Airlines Flight 93 which crashed on September 11 planned attack on the US capital, Washinton DC. The flight was scheduled to fly to San Francisco. A National Memorial will be built in Pennsylvania National Park.

The Lost Cows 2 - Boxers vs Cows

Since their first few 'visits' in October 2007, these five lost cows, one of them got horns, have been regulars in the property and become nuisance. Here's one of the occasions.

Smoked Speckled Trouts

Beautiful spices for smoking mix: Cinnamon, anise star, dried chile, fennel seed, jasmine rice, jasmine tea leaves, brown sugar, lemongrass, ginger, shredded coconut.


Caught them, cleaned them, fillet them, smoked them, and eat them. Delicious!

And can you believe this: The LSU t-shirt that Rangga wears was bought in Hammond, Louisiana, but made in INDONESIA! So it has been traveling back and forth to USA and Indonesia!
