The hen mallard that has been trying to hatch her eggs
under the oak tree in the front yard.
She has 16-ish eggs.

First Nice Fall Day

September.27.2010.

This is the first nice cool day in the fall. The farm members are enjoying the cool morning. This is the first day we are able to turn off the A/C in the house, too.

The donkey is having breakfast.


Wilbur still loves to be scratched by Hal.

Poultry on the Patio

September 7-12, 2010.

Chickens get too comfortable around the patio.


Dogue Douglas the dog and a chicken.
Dogue has been trained to chase away the chickens from patio,
but sometimes he falls behind on the job.

Used to be a cheeky little squirrel peeking at the kitchen door,
now ducks.

The First Duck Eggs

September 2, 2010.

The first duck egg was laid right in front of us
at the lawn by the patio on August 30, 2010.
That's the duck and Hal is walking to get the
FRESH egg.

The second duck egg we found was a big one.

The First Chicken Eggs

The first chicken eggs were small ones and were made into fried rice with shredded leftover roast duck for breakfast.
